Executive Regulation of Law 51 for 2014 Issued

H.E. Eng. Isam bin Abdulla Khalaf, the Minister of Works, Municipalities Affair & Urban Planning has issued the Executive Regulation of Law 51 for 2014 with respect to regulating the practice of engineering professions.

Furthermore, Eng. Abdul Majeed Al Qassab, the Chairman of the Council for Regulating the Practice of Engineering Professions (CRPEP) has mentioned that the Executive Regulation details the various categories upon which engineering offices and engineers are evaluated and licensed. Engineering offices are accordingly categorized into Bahraini engineering offices, foreign branches with level of A, B and C as well as companies with engineering departments under categories D and E in adition to the laboratories. He added that this executive regulation comes in line with with the vision of the H.E. Minister of Works, Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning as well as of the Council for Regulating the Practice of Engineering Professions in the kingdom, to ensure the safety of citizens and residents through licensing only qualified and competent engineers carry out engineering activities in a professional and safe manner. Eng. Al Qassab said that the advancement and promotion of engineering professions will certainly be reflected on healthier national economy by preventing malpractices and ensure accountability.

It is worthwhile mentioning that in accordance with Law 51 for 2014 with respect to regulating the practice of engineering professions, no individuals or entities shall practice engineering until they obtain license for CRPEP.
