The Council Discusses Aspects of Cooperation with the Association of Engineering Offices

The Council for Regulating the Practice of Engineering Professions (CRPEP) held a meeting with members of the Association of Engineering Offices on Monday, August 10, 2021. The meeting which was headed by the Council’s Chair; Eng. Mariam Ahmed Jumaan was attended by the Association’s President; Eng. Mazen Al-Umran along with several representatives from both the Council and the Association to discuss aspects of cooperation, coordination and to exchange views on ways to develop the engineering profession in the Kingdom.
The meeting covered several important amendments of the Council’s Law No. (51) of 2014 in compliance with Legislative Decree No. (18) of 2021 recently issued by His Majesty the King. The Council intends to take necessary measures to issue amendments to the Executive Regulations in line with the aforementioned decree. The meeting also touched on the measures taken by the Council to determine the new framework and requirements for the Professional Indemnity Insurance as part of the responsibilities of engineering offices in the event of any possible claims resulting from professional error or negligence.
Eng. Jumaan praised the continuous communication and coordination between the Council and the Association in an effort to promote and upgrade the Practice of Engineering Profession in the Kingdom. She also affirmed that the Council would spare no effort to support Bahraini Engineering Offices and help them grow and develop in spite of the challenges resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic.
