The Council for Engineering Professions Organizes Workshop
for discussing challenges and recommending solutions to facilitate services for engineering projects

The Council for Regulating the Practice of Engineering Professions (CRPEP) organized a workshop with the participation of concerned authorities and representatives of engineering offices to identify and define the challenges and obstacles facing the practice of engineering professions in the kingdom and then discuss the solutions to such challenges and obstacles so the best solutions are adopted accomplish services in shorter processing time and cost as well as with higher quality.

The workshop was chaired by Eng. Abdul Majeed Al Qassab, Chairman of CRPEP, as the workshop started with a presentation on the role of the CRPEP in regulating the work of engineering offices as stipulated by the law and the regulations in force, which are Law No 51 of 2014 and the Executive Regulation issued by Ministerial Order No. 27 for 2016. The presentation also addressed some of the challenges and obstacles faced by each of the participants in the workshop. The workshop concluded with a set of recommendations on the best solutions and mechanisms. And that the Council, with the cooperation of the concerned authorities is working on these recommendations after reviewing such recommendations with the concerned authorities.

The participation in the workshop encompassed representatives from the CRPEP, Engineering Offices, the Capital Municipality, the Southern Municipality, Information Systems Department of Municipalities, the Municipal One-Stop-Shop Center, the Electricity and Water Authority, and the General Directorate of Civil Defense. Additionally, representatives from Road Affairs, Cost Engineering and Sewage Sector, the construction and maintenance projects sector from the Ministry of Works, Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning, also participated in the workshop.
Eng. Abdul Majeed Al Qassab said that the Kingdom of Bahrain is currently witnessing an expansion in construction projects, including infrastructure, and that it is important to coordinate services between the relevant authorities to facilitate the completion of projects as soon as possible, taking into consideration the suggestions submitted by the service providers.

Essam bin Abdullah Khalaf, Minister of Works, Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning, for his valuable guidance and encouragement to conduct this workshop and to take initiatives to elivate and promote the engineering professions in the Kingdom.\"
